Our Stories
Each one of these dogs has been attacked by a dog owned by a dangerous dog owner. Some did not survive.
Pepper 🌈
Parents: Sheena and John
Pepper was on a walk near her home when she was mauled, completely unprovoked, by a leashed, known aggressive dog. She passed away the following day from injuries too severe to survive. The owner continues to evade responsibility, and the system offers no real recourse.
Forrest
Parent: Jessica
Forrest was attacked in Riverside Park by an unleashed aggressive dog. Forrest is alive, but as a result, he is blind in his right eye and sustained 14 puncture wounds. The aggressive dog was eventually put down due to the fact that the owner was unhoused and could not be reached to collect his dog.
Baby 🌈
Parent: Akiba
Baby was walking past an UES bookstore when a german shepherd ran out and lunged at Baby — grabbing her in his mouth and breaking her spine.
Baby was rushed to the vet, but had to be humanely euthanized. This dog had attacked 4 other dogs besides Baby. The police have never acted.
Harley
Parent: Jillian
Harley was in his gated front yard with his mom and his brother (Rocco) when a known aggressive dog jumped into their yard and attacked Harley completely unprovoked. Harley was rushed to the vet and sustained puncture wounds, but will recover. The police filed a report but have done nothing else to investigate.
JoJo
Parents: Symon and Louis
JoJo was attacked, unprovoked, from behind by a dangerous dog in Gramercy. There were severe injuries to Jojo’s back leg resulting in emergency surgery, and several days in the ICU. The police said there was nothing they could do and as a result, the owner of the aggressive dog couldn’t be identified to be brought to justice.
Caster 🌈
Parents: James and Eddy
Caster was on his walk when a dangerous dog charged across the street directly at Caster and began mauling him. Caster’s parent also sustained injuries trying to save him. Sadly Caster passed away from his injuries on the way to the hospital. No Dangerous Dog report was taken, the attacking dog is still free.
Chuckie
Parent: Lauren B
Chuckie was in the park with his best friend Grover, and wanted to play with another dog in the area. Suddenly 2 large aggressive dogs ran Chuckie down and mauled him. Grover 🌈
Parent: Lauren
Grover was walking in the park with his best friend Chuckie, when Chuckie ran off and was mauled by 2 aggressive dogs. Just like Chuckie, a report was filed and nothing was done.
